robin's new blog in beta.

Xanga has served me very well in the past years from the time that everyone used Xanga till the Facebook transition, and till now. I think it's time I say good-bye to Xanga.
Well, this doesn't mean I'll demolish it. But, it's time for a change. Time to step out of the box.

And for this, I introduce to you my newest blog! "Robinleung's Corner"
It is still in beta, but I will be slowly updating daily to bring excitement and news into the world.
I thank all for being my support @ xanga for the past years and now I hope you will still be my support at my new corner!

Yours Truly,
Robin

Small world.

So, it's been 3 weeks I've been here in Ottawa. Living in a "High-Tech" town called Kanata. Well, the town itself is not really high-tech, don't get me wrong, but there's A LOT of big IT companies over here. PPL like "Dell, Nortel, DragonWave, Mitel, etc..." Of course, RIM being one of them.
When I first got here, I thought I wasn't in Canada. It was so hot, so humid. (Very non-Vancouver weather) But, here I am!! So, over the span of a weekend the temperature dropped and I got sick. And here I am 3 weeks later, I am still sick! How SICK!=P But, I'm getting better...slowly! Taking my time to heal, I guess. You know, take it ...SLOW! Just like work. First week started out pretty slow. Now, things are picking up.

I'd like to share with you my first two days at work though. The story is quite amazing. And I was pretty shocked myself when I first "encountered" how small this world is!
So, first day of work...I met with my manager and he did the introduction thing...BUT, there was one person that I just HAD to meet and go to if I had ANY problems. And this was Ms.X!
That's right, Ms.X! So, no matter if it was big problem, small problem, just any PROBLEMS...I would go to Ms.X!
So, my first question...was on the phone...until I realized ppl here doesn't like this phone thing. We all use our BB's! But, not to phone ppl...but to E-MAIL ppl! How interesting. So, I kinda learnt that by the end of the first day.

Second day, I go in...Ms.X asks me this question..."do I know Ms.Y?" I'm like "YEAH, why?" So, it turns out that Ms.X is Ms.Y's "best frnds" I'm like ohhh...wow small world. And somehow, Ms.X had some sort of an idea...I was gonna be coming. And she was gonna be the one ans-ing all my PRBLMS! (Yes! I have prblms!) And how did Ms.Y know I was coming...it was Ms.Z!=P

Small world eh!=P Coincidence doesn't just come like that. I've got an "angel" coverin' my "donkey"!!=P
[Sorry, I just made the story less interesting by not disclossing real names. Feel free to sub in ppl you hate or ppl you like!!=D]

Alright...more golfing I go!+D

Blessings. (cop-ed from facebook.)

Well, it's been about a bit over one week since I've departed from home. And I've sure missed the weather we have in Vancouver. It seems everything at home is so much greener and fresher. The most I've missed from home is probably the food. It's so hard to find something "asian" here. Even if you find one, it probably tastes like crap. And if you know me well enough, you would know when it comes to food my standings are way up there! The second thing I missed most was MY CAR! or even TRANSLINK! That's right. I'm complimenting on Translink! WOW! If you've lived NOT in the centre of Ottawa, you would know what I mean. Everything is so spread out here. When I mean spread out, I mean it like peanut butter spread on your bread! It's really spread out. This means, it'll take you awhile to get to a near bus stop, wait for the bus (which comes every 20-30 mins), and if you're unlucky that day...it'll be raining. And if you're really unlucky...I guess it'll be REALLY REALLY COLD! (Except, I haven't been all that unlucky!) And when you're carrying groceries, mmm....not FUN! Especially, on weekends...the bus schedule is just extremely awkward. And it'll take you extra long to get home.

Besides the things I've missed, the things I've dis-liked, and the things that I'm just not at all used to (YET) I've gotta give thanks. And when we're talking about giving thanks, I mean it ... from all the way back to the start of this trip planning!
When I found out that I'll be doing co-op here in Ottawa, I thought...hmm...there's nothing to worry. Since, they're going to pay for most of my expenses, what is there to be afraid of? As long as they're paying me on-time, I'll live! haha. Except, I find that not exactly true.

The first thing that tied me up was my phone-line, for those who don't know, my phone is like 1/2 of my life. I depend on it. It's like my personal line! And I learnt that I can't hold my line for more than 3 months or that I can't even hold it at all cause once I disable my Vancouver number, I won't have the same chance of getting the same number. So, I phoned Fido/I phoned Rogers...hoping to get this settled cause I want to keep my current number that I have! So, I won't have to change numbers! But, after awhile of phoning...I had no luck. And my best plan was to keep on paying my current number and just get a new line. Or freeze my account, but I'd still have to pay the system access fee...which is ridicoulous. So, after leaving it in prayer, I phoned Rogers again the next day...and the CSR agent that helped me was able to hold my number for how ever long...and I could just switch to an Ottawa number. I was like YES! And he also gave me a long distance plan for an unbelievable price. I was like "THANK YOU, GOD!" When you think somethings are impossible, and even when someone that works at Rogers says it's impossible...it's impossible. But, I say...Everything is possible!

Second things that tied me up was finding a place to live cause accommodation isn't covered. So, I looked on the infamous "craigslist" and in that area, 5 minutes from work, a brand new place, and it's the only one listed in that area. You can't go wrong. It was like...it's purposely put there for me! And when I got here, my landlord is super nice...he offers to drive me to work, go travel together, make groceries trip together. Now, that is just extra special when you don't have a car, when you don't have anything but you and a pair of hands and a pair of feet. I feel so blessed. Oh...and I gotta tell you guys this story. I was walking home the first day from work, and I was by myself. I was about a block away from home carrying two handful of groceries...well, when I reached the STOP sign, a car was stopping. Looking at it, after 8 hours of orientation, 1 hour of shopping, 1/2 hour of bussing, I thought it was my landlord. So, I'm like "are you going home?" The guy (which I thought was the landlord) was like "yeah"! So, I walked near and he unlocked his door, and I got in the back. So, he's like "where are you going?" I'm like, "home." He's like, "where do you live?" I'm like, "I live at your house." He's like, "umm...do I know you? I don't seem to recognize you." I'm like, "oh yeah, i probably just have different glasses on today." He's like, "oh okay." So, when he turned the other way of the street. I noticed there's something fishy going on. Then I asked "are you X?" He' like "no, who's X?" I'm like..."CRAP! I'm so sorry. I thought you were X." But, he was SUPER NICE! He's like...lol...it's alright! It's cool. And he took me home (which was on the other side of the street)! WOW, nice neighbours eh?! But, seriously...he had the exact same lookin' car...the exact same face (or from my perspective!) lol.

Third thing that tied me up was that the day before I left, I learnt that my mail was stolen. So, I'm like...oh great! Now, I've ordered check books which should be arriving around that time and some other important docs' should be arriving in the mail around that time too. I was like...God, is this a joke? So, I had to phone all the places I know that I'd be expecting letters from and tell them to either send em' again...(which won't help, cause I'm departing the next day)...or just hold em' off. So, I phoned particularly the check book place...and I had learnt that they somehow screwed up on my order and so, I don't even have an order placed. But, I guess to me...it's good news! I guess it would be afterall, at least it didn't end up on whomever stole my mail!

The last thing that tied me up was my LAPTOP...which to all should know that my laptop is the other half of my life. I would lose communication with half of my world without it. And what I had done was that I decided to take it into the hospital for repairing 2 weeks before I am leaving. I'd figure it should be enough time because last time the repair was only one week. So, I took mines in right after finals. So, I waited for a week...then a week and a half...still nothing! Then the day before I left, I asked my dad to checkup on it in the morning. But, still they didn't hace it when he went in the afternoon. I'm like...oh great...time to get a new one! Seriously, I prayed extra hard to get my laptop back before I leave. And there it was, my prayers answered, that same evening my dad decided to go and check up on it. And there it was ...ARRIVED! I was like phew! That whole week, I felt so restless...thinking that I won't get it back in time.

I guess the last last thing that tied me up are my friends! I felt so uneasy that whole week, when I had lunches and dinners with my friends and family, I just didn't know what to say...I really meant to say that I'll miss you guys and just what great friends I have to support me every part of the way. I feel I was so blessed to have these people in my life. And you know, I really had the most BLESSED farewell even I didn't make anybody cry, and I didn't make anybody laugh like there's no tmr, but it was just right. A bit of sadness, yet it was joyous!
Aww...writing that...made me miss my friends all the way across the country!! =(
So, yes!! I'm really blessed to have my friends and family to support me ALL THE WAY!!

Alright, so a lil bit more update when I get the time and the chance to. I'm hoping to get a chance every week. But, hey...I guess I'm a busy guy now!=P

Song of the week: "Now That She's Gone"

Now That She's Gone
作詞:林俊傑 作曲:林俊傑

Girl you know I miss you so (女孩,你知道我很想你)
I didn't know you had to go (我不知道你不得不走)
You've had enough of our distance baby (寶貝,我們之間的距離已十分遙遠)
Before I had the chance to say (在我有機會表白之前)
I'm staying with you (我和你一起度過 )
For the rest of my life (我剩餘的生命)

Don't keep telling me these words (別繼續告訴我這些話)
You don't know how much it hurts (你不知道它是多麼的使人痛心)
And I'll promise you eternity (我會承諾永遠)
If you promise me your stay (如果你答應留下)
But now it's too late (但是現在已經太晚了)
I'm no longer the man that I was (我不再是以前的我)

I will go on without her (沒有她我依然會繼續下去)
Like a fool who's too sure (像一個自以為是的傻瓜)
I'm like a bird who's lost her wing (像一隻失去翅膀的鳥兒)
A fire without its flame (一把火沒有它的火焰)

I don't know how to be strong (當我的愛還在繼續時)
When my love has to move on (我不知該如何堅強)
I am a song without a soul (我是一首沒有靈魂的歌)
Now that she's gone (此刻,她已離開)
What's left of us is this song (留給我們的都在這首歌中)

This is our song without a soul (這是我們沒有靈魂的旋律)
Now that you're gone (此刻,你已離開)
What's left of us in this song (留給我們的只有這首歌)
